Hub on Wheels

This morning Alice and I walked down to the Hub on Wheels to cheer on Uncle Mike. He joined thousands of other cyclists for an ambitious 50 mile ride around metro Boston. Elizabeth and I are looking forward to registering the whole family next year to celebrate Alice's 1st Birthday!

In celebration of Alice Mae's 1-week birthday we took her to a puppet show! Actually, there was no show. But the maternity center we belong to has a location across the street from the theatre, so we took an outing to get Elizabeth some supplies.

First trip to the pediatrician. So far the stroller has turned out to be a good sleeping spot!

Order Up

Wow! Check out what the freezer looked like when we arrived home from the hospital. What an awesome way to start out our first sleep deprived week of parenthood. Tonight we went for the Hamburger Spaghetti.

Our First Walk

Elizabeth is recovering well. So today we went out for a long walk. Of course, since last week our definition of "long walk" has changed dramatically. We took a stroll down Thoreau Path, perhaps 1/4 mile round trip.

It's a girl!

The Ultrasound confirmed today that Elizabeth is carrying a baby girl. We think this is a facial profile. Head is down and everything is looking good. Our regular midwife is on vacation this week so we got to meet someone new. She is a bit like Mary Poppins - English accent included. She even waved her magic crystal over the baby to encourage her to come out.

New business...

I guess someone requested a picture of me. We are thinking about starting a new walking tour business. Todays tour: West End>Esplanade>Newbury St. > Mass Ave.> Cambridge>Memorial Drive>Cambridgeside Gallaria>Science Museum>West End. Working up an apetite because tonight Madelyn and Dan are bringing over an Indian Dinner!

...but after 20 minutes in the office (after our long morning walk) Elizabeth was ready for a swim. And lucky for us it is FREE guest day at the pool! Next adventure on tap for our "due date" is pizza in the North End with the Simpsons.

39 weeks 6 days

This evening was the last Landmark Orchestra concert at the Hatch Shell of the Summer 2010 season. We took a picnic and made a nice evening of it.
